INDO-US NOBEL LAUREATE WORKSHOP
A distinguished Nobel Laureate from the United States visited Mumbai on Feb. 13, 2017 to interact with St. Xavier's students/faculty members during the Biocon-Sponsored Indo-US Nobel Laureate Workshop for Students and Researchers.

Our aim was to ensure that a large number of students/researchers benefit from this high-impact training event and we were glad to know that our aims and objectives indeed got fulfilled.
Highlights of the Indo-US Nobel Laureate Workshop:
- A distinguished Nobel Laureate from the United States delivered a research talk and interacted with the audience.
- A well-cited researcher (U.S. Ph.D. with 13+ years of research experience in the United States), a clinical research expert (with work experience from the U.S.), and a BELS-certified scientific editing expert provided helpful valuable career insights.
- Students/researchers were able to find one or more answers to the question, "What should I become and why?"
- Students/researchers were able able to find one or more answers to the question, "What alternative career options do I have?"
- Students/researchers planning to go abroad for their M.S./Ph.D./Postdoc. received the necessary guidance.
- E-Certificates were e-mailed to all attendees who registered for (and attended) the workshop (the certificates clearly stated that the student/researcher participated in the Indo-US Nobel Laureate Workshop on Feb. 13, 2017).

- Acing Job Interviews: How to answer questions correctly using time-tested techniques and how to be successful in job interviews (what not to say during job interviews). The importance of presentation skills, people skills, and networking skills.
- The Indian Entrepreneur: How to convert a research idea into a million dollar business (with real-life examples). Students got introduced to the concept of research-inspired entrepreneurship.
- Alternative Careers for Students & Researchers: An introduction to alternative careers in science and technology (scientific editing, patent law, clinical research, YouTube partnership, etc.).
